What is Grounds Maintenance?

Grounds maintenance is about taking care of everything that residents of a municipality see and use on a daily basis. This includes streets, green areas, playgrounds and many other public locations. Grounds maintenance therefore covers both the upkeep of green spaces and the wider management of outdoor areas. The goal is clear: keeping the environment clean, safe and liveable.

Who is Responsible for Grounds Maintenance?

The primary responsibility for grounds maintenance lies with local authorities. They must organise and carry out maintenance effectively, often involving contractors or other external parties to perform specific tasks with specialist expertise. Increasingly, councils are also turning to digital tools. Jewel Software is one of these solutions, helping to manage processes in a smarter and more efficient way.

How much time does it take to implement 1 workflow?

2 training sessions of approximately 1.5 hours. 

What is the implementation process like?

First a Kick-off meeting in which goals and an implementation schedule are set. Then follow the training sessions (2 per work type) training 1: work preparation / training 2: making and planning of routes. Apart from the training we have a meeting once a month in which we monitor the progress of the implementation process. 

Is it possible to add Vlakken?

No, Jewel software is designed to support operational tasks, not asset management.

Does Jewel have automatically calculated routes based on production standards?

Because of the diversity of work types are supported in Tasks, we did not see a need yet, but might develop this in the future. 

Can I plan persons and vehicles in Jewel?

No we cannot link persons and vehicles to routes (this is due to privacy issues). Also a link with a capacity planning system is currently not possible. This may become possible in the future. 

What is the minimum requirement of purchase?

Minimum purchase of 5 apps and no pilot
